The Central and West African Implementation Science Alliance (CAWISA) has received its second round of funding from the Fogarty International Center at the US National Institutes of Health.

CAWISA Lead and Principal Investigator, Dr Nadia Sam-Agudu, who stated this in an interview, said that the award notification for the year two grant was received on 8th December, 2020.

“Second year funding will run from 2020 to 2021. The title of the funding is, ‘Responding to HIV and the COVID-19 Pandemic among Adolescents and Young People.’

 It will focus on scientific publications on adolescent HIV and related health issues in the West and Central African region,” she said. Dr Sam-Agudu added that the publications will also examine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on adolescent HIV and related services.
